Worship Times and Directions

     Sunday Morning Worship begins at 10 a.m.

Choir Practice is at 9 a.m.. All are welcome.

Coffee and fellowship are available in the Social Room immediately following the service.

Education for adults begins at 11:30.  Children K - grade 5 sit with their families at the beginning of the service and leave for their classes after "a time for children".   Programs for the youth are held after worship, on Sunday evening, and during the weeek.  For further information, check the Calendar of Events, the Parish Press, or contact the Church Office.

     The first Sunday of each month is Communion Sunday. The service begins at 10a.m.. There are no education classes on Communion Sunday.

     NOTE:  Beginning the third Sunday in June and continuing through the end of July, our worship begins at 9:30.  There are no education classes during these weeks.  During July, First Congregational Church joins with us for union services here.  During August, we join with First Church with services there.  The August services begin at 10:00.

The first Sunday in September, we will gather at Camp Ingersoll for a 10:00 AM service followed by our Church Picnic.  To get to Camp Ingersoll:  Cross the Arrigoni Bridge and stay straight onto Main Street, Rt. 17A.  Then turn right on Rt. 66.  Go approximately 3 miles and look for the sign for the Camp on your LEFT, just as the grass median ends.  Turn in on the Camp road and follow that to the main parking lot.  The Pavilion will be to your left.

NOTE: This is a POTLUCK PICNIC.  Please bring your own items to grill plus a dish to share.

The second Sunday in September we return to our building for worship at 10:00.

Directions to South Congregational Church

From Hartford:

I-91 south to Exit 22S - Route 9 south (left exit), to

DeKoven Drive (Harbor Area) - Exit 14.

At stop sign, continue straight.

Metro Square parking is on the right;

South Church is one block south on Main Street.

From New Haven:

I-91 north to Exit 18 - Route 66.

Remain on route 66 (becomes Washington St.) to its junction with Main Street, Middletown.

Turn right on Main Street and continue south; you will see the South Church steeple.

Parking

     South Church does not have a parking area. Parking is available as follows:

 Weekdays (until 6:00 p.m.):

 * Old Church Street is across the Green from South Church and offers free curbside parking.

* Metered spaces are available along Main Street.

* Union Street, in front of the YMCA offers free curbside parking.

* Middlesex Mutual Assurance parking garage; enter from Court or College Street.

* Metro Square parking lot, one block north of South Church; enter from William or College Street. Parking is free.

* Courthouse parking garage, two blocks north of South Church; enter from College Street.

Evenings and weekends:

*All of the above.

*On-street parking in front of the church.

*Middlesex Hospital offers free parking; enter from Pleasant Street between blue house and white house, next to South Church.
